Current Situation
Law enforcement agencies currently draw on a growing variety of digital observation/surveillance tools when investigating crime. Mobile observation/surveillance tools include body-worn video cameras, in-car cameras, license plate recognition software, and drone’s video. Fixed video surveillance refers to stationary capture of CCTV footage of cities’ agencies, businesses, residents, and citizens. Currently, these are somewhat disjointed and disconnected except in a few instances.
Goals and Objectives
Law enforcement agencies need real-time access to video, at times on an integrated video management platform, to more quickly connect the dots, capture evidence, and generate leads.
Technology Deployed
Body-worn video cameras, in-car cameras, CCTV, drones, ALPR, cloud storage, traditional storage, video management platforms, video analytics, advanced analytics, recognition software (facial, license plate, palm, gait), and mobile devices
Use Case Summary
As organizations increasingly struggle with the volume, variety, and velocity of video and visual information, video observation solutions are integral to managing the flow of real-time information and the ability to create actionable information baselines.
